ABOUT THE FOUNDATION: Imagine if something you did today could inspire local residents for years to come. Akron Community Foundation offers an easy, flexible means for giving to the issues and causes you care about most in a way that suits you.

The foundation is unique, pooling and investing gifts from all over the community. As it continues to grow, it keeps pace with the community's changing needs and improves the lives of future generations. To date, the foundation has reinvested more than $65 million into the community through grants to nonprofit organizations.

By giving through Akron Community Foundation, you can support an existing fund or create one named for yourself, your family, a loved one, your company or a nonprofit. You can make gifts now or plan for them in the future.

The foundation accepts gifts of cash, publicly traded securities, closely held stock, insurance, real estate, retirement plans and other readily marketable gifts. Now through Dec. 31, donors age 70 ½ or older can even donate a portion of their IRAs to Akron Community Foundation without first counting it as income or paying taxes on it.
